To be eligible to study in Canada
1 You must have been accepted by a school, college, university or other educational institution in Canada.
2 You must prove that you have enough money to pay for your:
a) tuition fees
b) living expenses for yourself and any family members who come with you to Canada and
c) return transportation for yourself and any family members who come with you to Canada.
3 You must be a law-abiding citizen with no criminal record and not be a risk to the security of Canada. You may have to provide a police certificate.
4 You must be in good health and willing to complete a medical examination, if necessary.
5 You must satisfy an immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your authorized stay.

Entry Dates & Admission Deadlines for Study Programs in Canada
Entry dates vary with each school but a general guideline is below.
It is recommended to apply 6-8 months in advance and no later than 3 months if you have all your test scores in order. Please keep 2-4 weeks for visa approval.
Working on your student visa
Foreign Students can work for 20 hrs per week and 40 hrs per week during summer. The hourly pay for on campus job pay from $10 to $15 per hour.
After you Graduate
As an international student, you have several work options available to you during, and after, your studies at a Canadian school. These options make it possible for you to gain valuable work experience. And in the case of post-graduate options, they allow you to stay in Canada after you have finished your studies.
Post-Graduation Work Permit Program
The Post-Graduation Work Permit Program allows students who have graduated from a participating Canadian post-secondary institution to gain valuable Canadian work experience.
A work permit under the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program cannot be valid for longer than the student’s study program. For example, if you graduate from a four-year degree program, you could be eligible for a three-year work permit if you meet the criteria. If you graduate from an eight-month certificate program, you would be eligible for a work permit that is valid for no more than eight months.
If you study has been for less than 8 months, you cannot apply for a Post Graduation Work Permit.
You are eligible to apply for Canadian PR after you have worked on the Post Graduation Work Permit Program. You receive extra points for having studied in Canada. If you have arranged employment during your Post Graduation Work
Permit program and while you are applying for PR, you will receive extra points for this too.
The cost of Study (Tuition and fees) in Canada varies from $5000 to $30000 per year. It all depends on the University you choose to study in. Financial aid is available in the form of scholarships & teaching assistant positions.

Procedure of Application
Once you have chosen a place to study, you will need to apply to that school, college or university. Every school has different rules on how to apply.
Make sure you apply early for your course of study. Apply at least six months in advance to primary and secondary schools. University and college students should apply a year before they want to start their studies. You need to follow the procedure below, to get your study permit:-
• Registration in Foreign University/Institute
• Pay VISA Fee and One Year/Semester Tuition Fee
• Get Interview Schedule Online
• Appear for Interview at High Commission/ Finger Printing
• Receive Medical from embassy
• Receive Visa Approval
• Pay Insurance Fee and Travel Charges before leaving from Home Country
• Make Travel Arrangements
• Reach Canada.
