Detailed Schedule of Heritage Tour (10 Days/ 9 Nights)
Day 01/ Arrival Delhi
Meet assistants at the airport & transfer to hotel. Night Stay in Delhi. Day 02
After breakfast move for sightseeing tour of New Delhi. Visit the Qutub Minaar build in 11th century, India Gate, President’s House, Lal Qila (Red Fort), Birla Temple and Humayun’s Tomb. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 03 Delhi- Agra (By Road- 2.5 Hr Drive Approx. 200 Kms via New Express Highway)
After breakfast drive to the city of Taj – Agra, Arrive Agra & transfer to hotel. Afternoon visit Agra Fort which was once the flourishing centre of the Mughal dynasty and construction was started by Emperor Akbar in 1566 which is a splendid fusion of military might and lavish beauty.
Later at sunset visit the magnificent Taj Mahal – unquestionably the World’s most magnificent monument built in 17th century. A colossal, perfectly proportioned mass of white marble, it is literally a jewel, fashioned over 20 years of hundreds of the skilled craftsmen and over 20,000 labourers to float like some fantastic mirage upon the Yamuna .It is surely the most extravagant expression of love ever created. Evening free to explore the Agra’s rich heritage of handicrafts in its markets. Overnight stay in Agra.
Day 04 Agra-Jaipur (By Road- 5 Hrs Drive Approx. 245 Kms)
After breakfast drive to the “pink city” Jaipur- The Pink City of Jaipur is a major gateway to explore the cultural and architectural heritage of Rajasthan. Reputed as one the ancient cities in India, it showcases the best of flamboyant Rajput architecture. Jaipur’s ornately decorated vernacular buildings welcome you with open arms. Enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri-a perfectly preserved red sandstone “ghost town” which was the estranged capital of mughal emperor Akbar, built in 1569. Arrive Jaipur in late evening & transfer to hotel. Night stay in Jaipur.
Day 05 Jaipur-Delhi (By Road- 5 Hrs Drive Approx. 260 Kms)
After a leisurely breakfast, visit the majestic Amber Fort, Ride up on Elephants to the ancient capital of the royals. Later visit the City Palace, Hawa Mahal also known as Palace of Winds, The five-story façade, decked with countless windows was built to enable the women of the court to watch royal processions. The intricately carved windows and a breathtaking interplay of red and white sandstone make it a destination par excellence.
Later drive to Delhi, Arrive Delhi & transfer to hotel.
Day 06 Delhi- Chandigarh (By Road- 5 Hrs Drive Approx. 250 Kms)
Reach “Chandigarh-The City Beautiful”, first planned architecture of India. After Checking in and Breakfast in Hotel, Visit Rock Garden, Lake, Museum, Rose Garden and the Downtown plaza of Sector 17 for shopping and leisure evening. Night Stay at Hotel.
Day 07 Chandigarh-Pinjore-Timber Trail (By Road- 1 Hour Run Approx.50 kms)
Spend a day at the Yadvindran Garden also known as Pinjore Garden for a picnic feeling. And Later visit Timber Trail to experience Gandola- Hill Trolley. Back to Hotel at Chandigarh in Evening.
Day 08 Chandigarh-Amritsar (By Road- 5 Hrs run Approx. 255 Kms)
Early morning pick up from hotel and arrival in Amritsar and transfer to hotel. Evening visit Wagah Border to watch Border Retreat Ceremony. The pageant of the beating of the retreat and the change of guard within handshaking distance of the Indian and Pakistani forces here makes the most charming of the spectacles as a daily evening drill. Ascertain the timings before you leave to see this spectacle since these are changed seasonally. Wagha is the only land border open between Pakistan and India. Night stay in Amritsar.
Day 09 Amritsar-Delhi (By Train- 6 Hrs Run Approx. 450 Kms)
After breakfast visit The Golden Temple-the Holy Scripture is brought in a vivid procession from the Akal Takhat (the highest temporal seat of the Sikhs) in the morning to the temple to be returned at night. Singing is central to Sikh worship & is a feast to the souls when hymns from the Holy Scripture are recited Kirtan and the waves of the classical ragas, a sublim blend of voice & music.
Also visit Jallianwala Bagh- Martyrs’ Memmorial built in the shape of eternal flame of liberty is situated on the outskirts of Golden Temple. Here about 1500 and 2000 persons who were attending a peaceful meeting during the freedom movement fell under the bullets of the British General Dyer on 13 April 1919 and the city of Amritsar.
Afternoon transfer to railway station to board the train back to Delhi. Arrive Delhi and transfer to hotel. Night stay in Delhi.
Day 10 Delhi Departure
Transfer to airport to board your flight back home.
